AGENTIL & "Georges Malaika Foundation"
Founded in 2007 by international model Noella Coursaris Musunka, the Georges Malaika Foundation empowers Congolese girls through education.
Why Education Matters:
The past two decades of civil conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo have led to over 5.5 million deaths and 800,000 people have been displaced. The dire situation has wreaked havoc on the educational system, leaving 7 million children out of school and the literacy rate among women at only 57%.
GMF faces this need by building and operating a free School for Girls in Kalebuka, DRC. This accredited School provides a quality education to 180 girls in an area that was completely underserved. The comprehensive program includes art, theatre, and music classes, two healthy meals a day, and sport activities twice a week.
AGENTIL supports GMF by supplying computers and educational DVDs that are used in their library. You too can be a force for good by supporting one of GMF’s many projects, such as the 3 wells that are providing clean water to 8,000 people, or the community centre that is teaching life skills to the youth in Kalebuka.
